We are Haverford and Bryn Mawr students in Professor Jake Culbertson’s Spring 2019 Anthropology and Urban Ecology, and Culture and Identity classes at Haverford College. Throughout the semester, we have been looking at three controversies – Queen’s Wharf, Waka Māori, and Taniwha – in Auckland, New Zealand from the lenses of urban ecology and indigeneity. This website (in addition to an exhibit at Haverford college in May 2019) is the culmination of three months of work.
